Things to see and do Cambridge England.

The city of Cambridge from atop St. Mary’s Church, May 2019.

While I’m not as well travelled in England as I’d like to be, I think I can confidently say that Cambridge has to be one of the country’s loveliest cities. Where else can you see such a compact abundance of exquisite architecture set among some of the world’s most prestigious colleges? Add to that handsome churches, cobbled squares, ancient bookstores, a gorgeous network of riverside backs, the age old pastime of punting, a lively market square and a ridiculously historical pub and no wonder people flock here from all over the planet.

Punting on the Cambridge Backs, May 2019.

Back in the day I used to teach at an annual English language summer camp in the town of Woodbridge in Suffolk. Every year we’d do a day trip to Cambridge with the teens and force some English history down their throats. But my favourite visit here came in May 2019 when my old friend Irish Mike and I spent a full day exploring the sights and reminiscing over a friendship that has now spanned over seventeen years.
