Come with me for an adventure in the largely unchartered region of Cangnan County! Located in China’s southeast in Zhejiang Province, Cangnan is a sprawling county of 20 towns and countless villages. Moreover, you’ll find isolated mountain communities, tiny fishing hamlets and scattered farming families.

In fact, if you’re in search of a dose of real China, it doesn’t get much more authentic than this. As a result, I felt inspired by the idea of exploring a place so few foreign travellers get to see. 

Visit Cangnan County. 

There’s very little online literature about Cangnan. Hence I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have befriended a local. Without her, I wouldn’t even have known about the places I ended up visiting. As my driver, guide, translator and dinner buddy, she also ensured I got the most out of my experiences here.
