Those looking for a road-less-travelled experience in the south of China might consider a day trip to the sleepy town of Chongwu in Fujian province. It’s about an hour’s drive from the city of Quanzhou and, furthermore, poor public transport links means you’d be looking at either renting a car or a pricy taxi.
