Hoi An

As soon as I started telling people I was going to Vietnam there was a common reply. “Oh, you’ve GOT to go to Hoi An!” It was the same once I actually got to Vietnam, with fellow travelers all drooling over its gorgeous historical buildings and romantic canals, not to mention the prospect of stocking up on high quality, low-cost, tailor made clothing. Sometimes when a place gets built up too much it’s easy to be disappointed. But that wasn’t the case with charming Hoi An, easily the most beautiful city from my four weeks on the road in Vietnam.
