"Short stories and travel reports from my life adventures around the globe".
In February 2015 I was living in Beijing and wondering what to do with my two-week break for Chinese New Year. It had been a longstanding dream of mine to visit Tokyo, but the associated costs were looking exorbitant. Then a buddy of mine recommended South Korea and assured me his friend would happily let me crash at his apartment in Seoul. It seemed too good an opportunity to turn down, so off I went for a jaunt that would see me explore the capital and then travel across the country.
As much as I loved my Korean experiences, I’d never thought of going back. But sometimes fate steps in, the stars align, whatever you wanna call it. When I finished up my third and final teaching contract in China (April 2019), I found myself heading straight to Korea because a) one of my best mates was now based in the city of Daegu and b) my brother (who I hadn’t seen in two and a half years) had recently relocated to Jeonju. I think it’s what they call a no-brainer.
