Travel Report: Studio City Macau.
February 2018. In the unlikely event I ever go back to Macau and stay at one of the monster hotels, my hard-earned money would definitely go to Studio City. This is Macau’s cinema themed complex, a palatial 1,600-room structure with a figure of 8 Ferris wheel called The Golden Reel built into the facade!
February 2018. A Jurassic Park theme dominates Studio City Macau’s main lobby, with over twenty life-size replica beasts, a Velociraptor Hatchery and a helicopter simulator ride over Isla Nublar.
February 2018. Studio City Macau features a 32.000 sq. foot Warner Brothers Fun Zone which is mainly aimed at keeping the kids busy while mum and dad slink off for a movie.
Among the many character themed zones, there’s a Tom & Jerry Picnic Playground and a giant assault course featuring the likes of Daffy Duck, Coyote and Roadrunner. “Beep, beep” etc.
February 2018. With limited time in Studio City Macau that day, Wonderboy and I wasted no time in grabbing tickets for Batman: Dark Flight, a 4D multi-sensory simulator that leads you through an explosive adventure chasing The Joker, Bane and Two Face through the streets and airways of Gotham City. Highly recommended!
February 2018. You can’t leave Studio City Macau without jumping on The Golden Reel Ferris wheel! The slow-moving figure 8 is comprised of seventeen cabins, each holding up to ten people. The views across Macau’s Cotai Island are amazing, a skyline of skyscrapers such as The Parisian in one direction, nothing but undeveloped wetland in the other. A joint Ride & Fly ticket for The Golden Reel and Batman: Dark Flight costs 200MOP (£18 €20 $25).
