It’s hard to figure out why the city of Quanzhou is such an overlooked travel destination. Hugging China’s southern coastline, it has a rich history as a key component of The Maritime Silk Road. Furthermore, Quanzhou’s sprawl is awash with ancient stone streets, temples and squares. Along the way, its predominantly classic Chinese architecture occasionally fuses with Islamic flavours.
