What to see and do Oban Scotland.

Visit Oban.

It’s amazing to think that in my 40 years on this planet I’d never once been on a trip with my sister. You know, just her and I, free from the responsibilities of everyday life.

It was her idea that we put this sorry situation to rights for my 41st birthday in July 2019. Keen to uncover a new corner of Scotland, we eventually settled on a couple of days in the gorgeous town of Oban.

Visit Oban: McCaig’s Tower.

I certainly have no regrets about our choice. Oban is an incredible place with an abundance of natural beauty and wondrous architecture. During our stay, we took a cruise out across the bay to see newborn baby seals.

We also visited a Neo-gothic cathedral, a historical townhouse and the dramatic ruins of a hilltop tower. Moreover, we ate world class seafood, met a member of the MacDougall clan and enjoyed a Fawlty Towers-esque hotel experience that neither of us are likely to forget in a hurry!
