Where to Eat and Drink in Tokyo

Where to Eat and Drink in Tokyo: Ninja Akasaka.
What an astonishing city Tokyo is! Not only for its fascinating history and sights, but also because of its excellent food and drink scene. In fact, when it comes to cafes and restaurants, I haven’t been anywhere that can compare to the Japanese capital.

Where to Eat and Drink in Tokyo: Gran Gourmet Sushi.
However, I’m not simply talking about world class sushi and terrific teriyaki. Actually, the city’s strength lies in its ability to offer visitors unique, mind-blowing dining environments.
Where else in the world could one eat in a vampire’s lair one evening? The next in a stunning space that inspired Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino for his movie Kill Bill?

Where to Eat and Drink in Tokyo: Gonpachi Nishiazabu (Kill Bill Restaurant).
And these are just drops in the ocean. Try dreaming up a crazy cafe-restaurant theme and chances are someone in Tokyo has already done it.
Indeed, during my time in the city, I found myself served by masked ninjas and interplanetary, French dress wearing maids. Or perhaps you’d prefer to have dinner while watching a space dinosaur robot fighting a fire-spewing dragon?

Where to Eat and Drink in Tokyo: The Robot Restaurant.
Moreover, I had fun hanging out at eateries dedicated to retro video games and airsoft shooting. To hedgehogs, owls, Japanese anime, kawaii monsters and…um… Bob Dylan.

RIP: The Kawaii Monster Cafe.
