Visit Loch Ness

Visit Loch Ness.
A visit to the mysterious and misty waters of Loch Ness had been on my bucket list for as long as I could remember. In fact, I recall being fascinated by it as a kid. You know, the thought of embarking on some grand adventure and catching just a glimpse of Scotland’s famous monster.

“Aaaaargh!” Etc.
Later, as a teen, I saw the brilliantly crappy movie Loch Ness starring Ted Danson. Hence I found my curiosity piqued all over again. And yet, despite spending a decent chunk of time in Scotland over the years, I just never got round to making a visit.

All that changed in the summer of 2019. It had already been a prolific period of Scottish travel and I was keen to keep the momentum going.
It was early July and my old friend Spackles came to visit me at my sister’s place in Banavie. Jumping into his car with our overnight bags, we sped off on a road trip through The Scottish Highlands. Finally… at long last… it was time to cross Loch Ness off the great Leighton Travels bucket list.

“What the **** is that!??!”
