You’ll find some truly beautiful places among the vast library of location reports here at Leighton Travels. In this respect The Scottish Highlands certainly stands up there among the most stunning landscapes I’ve ever seen.

And to think I used to complain about Scotland. Especially the mostly awful weather and the lack of entertainment out in the heart of the countryside.

It brings to mind that famous quote from Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz: “Everything you were looking for was right there with you all along.”

With my mum, sister, brother-in-law and niece stationed in the pretty village of Spean Bridge and Banavie respectively, I’ve spent a fair bit of time in The Highlands over the years.

However, it wasn’t until the summer of 2019 that I finally made a dent in the map with a series of wonderful trips across this amazing region of Scotland.
