The Scottish Highlands
Uquhart Castle, The Scottish Highlands. July, 2019.
You’ll find some truly beautiful places among the thousand or so location reports here at Leighton Travels. And if we talk strictly about natural beauty, I’ve been lucky enough to visit some gorgeous places these last twenty years. In this respect The Scottish Highlands certainly stands up there among the most stunning landscapes I’ve ever seen.
Views over Oban from McCaig’s Tower. July, 2019.
It brings to mind that famous quote from Dorothy in The Wizard Of OZ: “Everything you were looking for was right there with you all along.” With my sister, brother-in-law and niece stationed in the pretty village of Banavie, I’ve spent a fair bit of time in The Highlands throughout my life. However, it wasn’t until the summer of 2019 that I finally made a dent in the map with a series of trips across this amazing region of Scotland.
