My Finished Travel Guide to Siem Reap!

My Finished Travel Guide to Siem Reap!
Hi everyone!
It’s been a strange old day here at Leighton Travels. Firstly, I have just arrived in the Turkish capital, Istanbul! Yup, that’s right, I finally said goodbye to Cambodia after nine memorable months. An exciting 18-day adventure awaits us here in Turkey. Thus I really can’t wait to get stuck in to the sights, sounds and smells of a new country.
As fate would have it, this is also the day when, at long last, I’ve finished my travel guide to Siem Reap! After months of on-off posting, in between a zillion other LT projects, the curtain falls on my 41 article series.

Angkor Wat: My Finished Travel guide to Siem Reap!
This has definitely been one of the most rewarding experiences of my 20 years living around the world. Sladja and I have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this Siem Reap guide.
We hiked with elephants, explored isolated jungle temples and moved into a luxury boutique hotel. We met local business owners to hear and tell their moving life stories. I found the Cambodian Tom Cruise and chatted with the late, great genocide survivor Dy Proeung. Moreover, we came face to face with stunning waterfalls, talented circus performers and one of Asia’s most successful Indian Restaurateurs. Oh, and let’s not forget a heroic, landmine-sniffing, life-saving rat!

I could go on, but I won’t. Rather, I’ll just thank everyone who’s supported the blog over the past months. Especially those loyal readers who regularly like and comment. Recently Leighton Travels has passed the 150.000 reader mark, we certainly couldn’t have done it without you.
If you’re new to our work on Siem Reap, or just want to mop up those articles you missed, please find the complete overview below. Farewell, Siem Reap, we knew you well…

Thanks Memo, a posting break now before eventually putting out guides to Kampot and Phnom Penh.
Congratulations and enjoy Turkey
Thanks Sheree!

Wow, sounds like you had quite the adventure in Cambodia! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the posts you wrote of it (even if I didn’t comment on all of them). Cam’t wait to see where you go in Turkey; I was there last year, and I had a good time. I’m sure you will, too! 😊
Thanks Rebecca, really appreciate it!
Hello Leighton. Thanks for connecting in instagram. Planning a trip to Cambodia in Oct 2021, think you will still be there?
Hey Dale, actually we just left Cambodia for Turkey. Hope the Siem Real guide comes in handy. Over the coming months, I’ll also be publishing articles from Kampot, Kep and Phnom Penh.
I will have to go back and read some of your older posts. I’ve enjoyed the ones I’ve come across since I discovered your blog. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your support! Hope you enjoy the others.
I certainly can’t wait for your adventures in Turkey and I’ve learnt a lot about Siem Reap from you from the coconuts and street art, temples to haha, Tom Cruise. Great work Leighton and I like how you spend time to explore places, nine months is sure a long stay… and that’s the kind of travel I want to be involved in years from now. Keep writing Sir!
Very kind words Emmanuel, thanks for your loyal readership!
You’re welcome!!!
Congratulations on completing the series and thanks for doing so! It’s been lovely seeing parts of Cambodia through your eyes and looking forward to your adventures in Turkey.
