Visit India

Visit India: Kodanad Elephant Sanctuary in Kerala.
India will always hold a very special place in my heart. I was just twenty six years old when I set off for the adventure of a lifetime in March 2004. Moreover, it was the first time I’d planned such a long trip lasting several months. No wonder India continues to hold a particularly romanticised space in the old memory bank.

Visit India: Elephanta Island, Mumbai Harbour.
While much of that trip (which saw me travel almost the entire length of the country) was exceptionally challenging, I wouldn’t change a single moment. My only regret, if you can call it that, is that I have so few photographs of those magical months.

Nevertheless, I have managed to turn what I do have into a modest selection of travel reports. Definitely among the trickiest I’ve ever done on these pages but hey, I didn’t want to omit India from the travel report library.

Visit India: The incomparable Taj Mahal in Agra.
So here they are, a memorable string of locations that include a desert camel safari and an afternoon bathing elephants. Articles that cover the trials and tribulations of a certain pink city and the unparalleled beauty of one of Planet Earth’s most captivating buildings.

The Hawa Mahal in Jaipur.
For the full story on these, and so much more, why not visit India through my travel reports on:

These locations, among others, also feature in my short story collection Incidents in India.
