Leighton Travels on Instagram!

Hey, ho!

Well, I’ve finally gone and done it. The thing that people never thought I’d ever do. The very action I have never really wanted to do. The all-encompassing juggernaut that I fear will eat up way too much of my time. Yes, that’s right, I have at long last launched Leighton Travels on Instagram!

2020 is the year I try and give social media a real go. Begrudgingly, I have come to accept that WordPress and Facebook don’t quite cut the mustard when it comes to major blog growth. On the bright side, organic search traffic continues to gradually increase, although this is dependant on constant SEO application and therefore a slow and arduous process.

As such, I have sat down, made a deal with the devil and set off on my Instagram journey! Getting photo likes and gaining followers is one thing, but will this actually convert into visitors to Leighton Travels? After all, I’m not a blonde 23 year old influencer with a curvy bum and an infinite range of bikinis. Do Instagram people actually want to read something? Do I myself have the patience for all this? Only time will tell.

I have certainly done everything I could to prepare for the adventure ahead. A big shout out goes to my girlfriend for her genuine enthusiasm, diligent research and invaluable advice. Similarly, travel blogger extraordinaire Nomadic Matt has guided me through the process via his excellent Superstar Blogging Course. Thus, all that’s left to do is for me to implement this wisdom, deliver the goods and see where the chips fall.
